October trip to Cox farm

In October, you, Momma, and Daddy went to Cox Farm for some autumn fun. The fun began with a hayride through the farm.

There were many sights and sounds on the hayride and Momma protected your ears when there were especially loud sounds.
You discovered hay on the ride and Momma let you play with it as long as you didn't try to eat it!

Your facial expression reflects your impression from the talking farmer along the way.

The hayride included going through a barn complete with flashing lights.

You had a grand time playing with all of the pumpkins. And you can stand supported now. And yes, you did try to eat one of the pumpkins!

There were lots of animals to see on the farm.

And really big pumpkin signs!

The fun day ended with what seemed to be your favorite--a fresh apple. You had had cooked apples with the food that Momma made and you were anxious to eat the real thing with your new teeth. You did a great job one the apple with help from Momma. The day had become warm so you had shed your tractor shirt.

We now know that you have some significant food allergies with the main allergies being to milk, eggs, and the worst--peanuts. Wherever you go, an epi goes with you in case of a severe reaction. Momma continues to make most of your food and is now pureeing it less and you now enjoy 'chunks' of cooked apple, sweet potatoe, squash, pears, peaches, and mango. You enjoy rolling the chunks around in your mouth and using your teeth and gums to break it down. You are now enjoying meats--primarily turkey and chicken. You enjoy eating and laugh much during your meals with dinosaur sounds thrown in episodically.
I love you very much baby bug, Grandma

The tooth is here!

Your tooth finally came in on September 27th. If those reading the blog, click on the picture, it will enlarge and the shiny white beauties can be seen (this blog feature was a new discovery for Grandma!)

You finally conquered crawling in October, although keeping up with you is definitely a full time job with your new cruising speeds!
Before you accomplished crawling, you decided that just rolling would get you where you wanted to go. You would roll from one end of the family room to the other and were quite proud of yourself!

In the process of learning to crawl you would flip onto your hip frequently. It is not possible to describe the process but you were so cute when you would quickly swing your body up to sitting after trying to crawl. In the picture, you can see your right hip in the flip position. In the picture below, you were in your 'arms and legs swimming' position in the beginning of your crawl attempts. The only part of your body touching the floor was your tummy and you would rock to try to move forward.

You love to play with Momma and Daddy and are even more interactive with your toys. You have learned cause and effect with your toys and it is so much fun to watch you discover new things everyday. You will put your hand in the middle of the dinosaur and cause it to vibrate whether there are balls in or not and are quite pleased with your efforts.

Daddy put a mirror on the floor and you would play with your "pal" in the mirror for great lengths of time. You would just laugh and began to play peek a boo using the mirror.

Grandma was able to visit with you all for a weekend when Daddy went hunting and as always Grandma enjoyed every minute. In addition to your new teeth and crawling, you have discovered your voice and love to yell and make a joyful noise. While eating you let out your dinosaur roar in between bites. And my baby, you are all boy, as you love to bang anything your hands come in contact with.

I love you so much little one,

Grandma

It is 2012 already! and Grandma still needs to catch up!

The weather in September continued to be beautiful and you, Momma, and Daddy went to the park area not far from your home. You have a new car seat and continue to love your new stroller. The path to the park is pretty rocky and bumpy as there is some type of drainage/construction going on but you weathered the path well as you relaxed while being pushed by Momma or Daddy. The "skeeters" are still about and Daddy and Momma made sure you all had the OFF clip ons going to protect all of you.

You had fun on the slide, swing and bouncy.
At the top of the slide you found something that you were eyeing as a possible tasty treat-perhaps a leaf or a bug!. But Daddy diverted your attention with you ball cap. You are beginning to get some "fuzz" on your head and it looks like it may be blond, but we will have to see as it continues to grow.

You had a great time on the swing as at first you studied the swing's parts (probably trying to figure out how to get the metal piece into your mouth). Then you had fun while Momma or Daddy swung you back and forth.

You seem to change each day little one but your smile is your constant feature. You are one happy baby as long as you get your naps--you are a great napper now--and have a full tummy!

You bring joy to Grandma's heart each and every day.

Love always,

Grandma
